Why video content is vital
Why is Video Vital for Your Marketing Strategy?
The time for video is now! I have been creating videos for businesses for the last 7 years and have seen a major change in video marketing in that time. According to Smart Insights, in 2020, 92% of marketers say that video is an important part of their marketing strategy. This fact was 78% in 2015, which shows just how much video has grown in the last 5 years. Video is the best way to get a message across in a short period of time and the engagement is like no other!
So, here are 4 reasons why you should be using video as part of your marketing strategy:
1.Video allows you to create a tone.
Whether it’s your personal brand or business brand, video shows off your tone. Tone is one of the most important things when it comes to marketing as this creates how you want the viewer to feel. I always keep in mind that 95% of the customer’s purchasing decision is based on how they feel. The tone I use in my own training videos is light-hearted and fun as I want my customers to feel relaxed. In my tips videos, when I’m talking about complicated video editing, I want my audience to feel like it is simple and easy to achieve.
2.Building personal relationships.
Video is the best way to create personal relationships between you and your audience. I create training videos once a week on social media and this has made a massive difference in how people greet me at networking events. I have had people that I have never met before coming up and talking to me on a personal level. When people watch your videos on a daily or weekly basis, they feel like they know you and therefore, it cuts out an awkward introduction.
3.You have no idea who is watching your videos.
I know this one sounds daunting, but this is actually a really good thing. When I first started uploading videos on LinkedIn, I was shocked at all the company CEOs and businesspeople who started to interact with me. I have been given so many amazing opportunities through creating my videos. I have been asked to talk at events and create social media videos for other businesses. You have no idea who is watching your videos and therefore you have no idea how massive the opportunities can be. It’s exciting!
4.Storytelling.
Videos are a brilliant opportunity to tell your audience a bit more information about yourself. You can talk about your experience in the industry. You can talk about the struggles you’ve had in business. Overall, storytelling is a brilliant way to build trust with your customers. My number one tip is “Don’t sell, story tell!”
Overall, videos are very important in any business’ marketing strategy. I would advise people to feel the fear and just hit the record button! If you are camera shy, we have a lot of clients who hire in actors to do the talking for them. Either way, video is going to become a way of life on social media. It’s so important for every business to keep up with the trends or risk falling behind!
