Overall, I really like this bag - it’s one of the most stylish I’ve seen on the market, it’s a good large size for business travel and having 2 compartments is very neat. I also really like the sustainability aspect and the company’s ethos. So when I bought this I really really wanted to love it. But, there are a few things about it that for me make it just miss that mark of being a perfect bag (and at a £200 price tag I was surprised to discover them): - Weight. It is very heavy. While I understand it’s about durability and quality materials, the weight is really too much for convenient travel, especially with something typical like a laptop, charger, toiletries bag, a power bank and a notepad inside it quickly adds up to become very heavy. - Main section opening. I think the opening just isn’t wide enough for the size of the bag and it means I have to always rummage through to grab something from the bottom. It would be better if it opened all the way (personally I would prefer a full zipper similar to the laptop compartment, but without the fabric that prevents you from fully opening it). - Rigid structure. This point kind of goes with the above. Because there is no wide opening for the main compartment, the durable structure of the bag becomes a hindrance. I regularly struggle to fit everything in, and when I do, I struggle to close the bag without gaps / bulges / awkward zipper shape. - Doesn’t fit as many things as other bags of similar size. I get it - you want a stylish work/travel bag, be prepared to sacrifice some space. However I find this one especially restrictive and I’m not quite sure exactly why, but the bag just isn’t able to fit as much stuff as you would expect for its large size. Maybe it’s about the proportion split between the two compartments - neither one is really wide enough for much stuff. - Missing features. This is just a “nice-to-have” but it would have been nice to have a dedicated water bottle compartment inside. I hope that the brand considers this feedback (I was surprised to see nobody had mentioned any of the above before) and incorporates it into their future design, as I would definitely buy an improved version.

The bag arrived really quickly and I am thrilled with it. It is beautiful and I have had loads of positive comments from work colleagues. It is perfect for carrying laptop/ paperwork and has stopped my sore back as I now have the backpack style support. Would highly recommend.

Having followed Charlotte over the last few years on LinkedIn and been intrigued by her Carter Bags stories I decided to purchase one for my partner’s birthday who by the way has an addiction to Mulberry products .The special day arrived and she opened the well packaged product.
